Who are we?
We are a grassroots student-led organisation growing in size and might.
Our group includes single parents, students with disabilities, people in full-time employment, and those with caring responsibilities or other life circumstances that make studying online preferable. We are spread out all across the country and the world, yet we still have voices and we demand they be heard.
Why do we exist?
We formed in response to Israel’s escalating crimes in Gaza and to campaign for the Open University to cut ties with arms dealers and companies complicit with Israel.
What are our demands?
We demand the Open University end its close relationship with arms companies such as BAE Systems, as well as terminate partnerships with companies supporting Israels occupation and genocide, including Cisco and Caterpillar, and divest from companies in it’s investment portfolio materially supporting Israel such as Microsoft and Alphabet.
How can you help?
If you are an OU student or alumni you can Join Our Group. As well as campaigning we socialise in the group chat, host games nights, and maintain a friendly supportive atmosphere.
If you are a staff member or an academic at the OU, you can Join OU PSG (OU Palestine Solidarity Group), a staff/academic network equally committed to the cause.
If you are not an OU affiliate you can still Take Action by sending an email template to management.
You can also Donate to support our group, and spread the word by sharing one of our blog posts or social media posts online!
